Adelaide (Lewis) Gravel, 96 of Worcester, formerly of Millbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center surrounded by her loving family. Adelaide's husband of sixty-seven years, Leo R. Gravel, Sr. passed away on January 25, 2006. She is survived by her two sons, Leo R. Gravel, Jr. and his wife Joyce of North Grafton and William E. Gravel of Columbiana, AL; her two daughters, Marcia L. Pousland of Millbury and Louise L. Perks and her husband Richard of Stratham, NH; eleven grandchildren, Kenneth, Karyn, Gayle, Leanne, Kristine, Sharon, Nancy, Michael, Gene, Joy and William; sixteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by seven siblings. Adelaide was born in Darby, PA., a daughter of the late Harry L. and Maude (Smith) Lewis and has lived most of her life Millbury, MA. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Adelaide was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Franco American Club in Millbury. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, playing cards and taking trips to Foxwoods. The Gravel family would like to thank the staff at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, especially Beverly, Anabela and Gladys for the outstanding care and compassion given to Adelaide in her time of need. Services for Adelaide will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial beside her husband will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 4th from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
