William H. Ahearn, 87, of West Boylston, died peacefully Wednesday evening March 27, 2013 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his loving family. William is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Jeanette (Conner) Ahearn, his children; Richard Ahearn and his wife Mary of West Brookfield, William Ahearn Jr. and his wife Patricia of Shrewsbury, Craig Ahearn and his wife Michelle of Florida, Gary Ahearn and his wife Marcia of Oxford, two daughters Denise Nordstrom and her husband David of Millbury, and Kimberly Curtis and her husband Michael of Oxford. Bill is also survived by his adoring grandchildren; Brenda, Pete, William, Jennifer, Billy, Craig Jr. Jason, Jennifer, Becky, Amanda, Jeffrey, Alicia, Chris, and Olivia. 21 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and many nephews and nieces, and his canine companion Princess. He was predeceased by a grandson Dana Ahearn, and several siblings. William was born in Worcester son of the late John and Marcella (Zablo) Ahearn and lived in Worcester, and Grafton for several years before moving to West Boylston where he and Jeanette lived for the last 35 years. William served his country proudly as a United States Marine during WW11. Upon returning home he started to work for the Local #4 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union where he worked for the next 67 years before he retired. William was a long time member of the Marine Corps League in Worcester, and was also a life member of the Local #4 Pipefitters and Plumbers Union. Bill enjoyed hunting, and many years ago raced ponies. However his most treasured times were those spent with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. William's funeral will be held Saturday March 30,at 10:30AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. A Calling hour will be held from 9:00AM until 10:30AM the time of the service. Interment with Military honors will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
