Marguerite "Peg" (Howard) LeFebvre, of Auburn, matriarch of over 140 family members passed away peacefully , Monday March 18th 2013 in her home with her devoted family by her side after a valiant battle with cancer. Peg was born in Worcester, one of six children of the late James E. Howard Sr and Irene (Landry) Howard. She grew up on the Southside of Worcester, graduated from South High School and has lived in Worcester before moving to her daughter's home in Auburn recently. Marguerite's husband Wallace J. LeFebvre Sr. passed away in 2007. She is survived by the family she loved so much; her children, Laurie Lugo and her husband Christopher with whom she lived, Kimberley Lee and her husband Edward of Lakewood, Florida, Nannette Southworth and her husband Kevin of Sterling, Cherlyn Hollar and her husband John of Elkhart Indiana, Darlene Ramos and her husband Dan of Leominster, Wallace J. LeFebvre, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Duane Laythe and his wife Betty, Lee Laythe and his wife Gloria, Brian Laythe and his wife Kelly, and Bruce Laythe all of Worcester,; a brother, Walter A. Howard, Jr. of Glendale, AZ; her brother in law and sister in law Doris and Donald O'Keefe, Sr. ; over 122 grand and great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews and extended family. A brother, James E. Howard and three sisters, Judy Parda, Ann Loretto, Eileen Rannikko, pre deceased her. Peg besides raising her wonderfully large family, she found time to help other as a Home Health Aide for Home Staffing and Elder Affairs before retiring. Peg was a very religious and active member of St Peters Church. She was a very independent woman who never relied on anyone but herself, didn't drive, walked or traveled on the bus to get where she was going. She loved to cook, bake, watch TV; especially the Price is right, jeopardy and the Red Sox. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours, Friday, March 22nd from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 23th at 10:00 am in St. Peters Church, 931 Main St. (Please go directly to church). Burial next to her husband will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Peg's name be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street Worcester or the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, 33 Broad St Boston, MA 02109. The LeFebrve family would like to acknowledge, her home maker Luce, Dr George Abraham and his staff; hospice nurse Jill, PCA Jocelyn, Social worker Marilyn, volunteer Marcia as well as all the dear family and friends for all the care, comfort and compassion they gave to our mother during a difficult time.
