Vincenza Quitadamo

Vincenza M. (Simone) Quitadamo, 89 of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Vincent's Hospital. Vincenza's husband of twenty-seven years, Matteo M. Quitadamo passed away in 1975. She is survived by her son, Thomas P. Quitadamo and his partner, Darlene Connole of Rutland; her daughter, Elaine Zuese and her husband John of Barre; two brothers, John Simone and Bartolomeo "Thomas" Simone and his wife Winifred; a sister, Mary Salerno all of Worcester; three grandchildren, Rachel Zuese, Christopher and Nicole Quitadamo; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Michael A. Quitadamo, a sister, Maria Simone, and a brother Joseph " Blondie" Simone. Vincenza was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Tomaso and Armida (Monfreda) Simone. She graduated from Commerce High School and has lived here all her life. She was a devoted,wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Vincenza, affectionately referred to as "Chenza," "Vinnie" and "Jay" was a genuine gentle soul. Vincenza was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel- St Ann Church. Services for Vincenza will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel- St Ann Church , 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at church. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church Renovation Fund at the above Address.
