Eleanor M. (Canzano) Warner, a lifelong Worcester resident passed away peacefully at the age of 91, Saturday, March 9th 2013 with her devoted family gathered beside her. Eleanor was born in Worcester, one of six children of Italian immigrants Gennaro and Maria (Rondinone) Canzano. She graduated from Commerce High, met and married her husband and the love of her life for the next 59 years, David E. "Bud" Warner. Together they settled in the Atlanta street neighborhood of Worcester to work and raise their family, traveling after retirement to Vero Beach Florida in the winters. Ellie's husband David E Warner Sr. passed away in 2006. She is survived by her devoted two sons, Robert D. Warner Sr. and his wife Judith of Worcester, David Warner and his wife Linda of Spencer: four grandchildren Robert D. Warner Jr. and his wife Kristen, Raymond Warner and his wife Christina, Rebecca Smith and her husband Michael, and David R. Warner; Seven Great Grandchildren, Seth, Alyssa, Hannah, Emmarae, Jocelyn, James and Andrew; Many nieces, nephews and extended family. A special thank you to her niece, Nancy Paquette for all the times she was there to help Ellie when needed. Four brothers, Vincent "James", Leo, Joseph, and John Canzano, a sister, Mary Carlson and two infants all pre deceased her. Ellie began her employed years as an Interior decorator for the former Stayman's Store for over seventeen years; she then took a position as a route driver for Mentally Challenged Children for over 15 years. Her last position before retiring in 1989 was as a cashier for the Sawyer Lumber Company over eleven years. She was a member of Mary Queen of the Rosary in Spencer, a former member of St Margaret Mary Church and its Ladies Guild in Worcester. Ellie was also very active in her community volunteering her time to help many organizations and committees. She was a dedicated mother holding on to her Italian Heritage and passing it on to her children. The holidays were special and having her family around her made her proud. The pride she took watching her family grow was an inspiration to her and them. Those were the most treasured times in her life. Her neighborhood on Atlanta Street was also very special to her. She could be seen daily in the front yard, watching, waving and having a conversation with her neighbors as they passed. Friends and relatives are invited to gather for calling hours Tuesday March 12th 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Wednesday March 13, from the funeral home at 9:45 am with a procession to Mary Queen of the Rosary, 7 Church St. Spencer where her Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 am. Burial next to her husband and her Canzano family will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name may be made to Mary Queen of the Rosary, 46 Maple Street Spencer, 01562.
