Anthony J. Ginese, Jr., 83 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family. Anthony is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Carole T. (Stewart) Ginese; his four beloved children, Mark S. Ginese and his wife Cathy Marcello of Shrewsbury, Karen A. Balcius and her husband Richard, David A. Ginese and his wife Wanda and Gregory A. Ginese and his wife Caren all of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Melanie Harwood and her husband Ronald of Danielson, CT, Joseph Ginese and his fiancé Robyn Kaplan of Forrest Hills, NY., Desiree, Travis, Zachary, Lily and Cody Ginese all of Worcester, Tyler and Ryan Marcello both of Shrewsbury; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Young and her husband Bob and Nancy Courtney and her husband Bob all of Millbury and Alberta Esposito and her husband Vito of Florida; a brother-in-law, Russell Stewart and his wife Margaret of Worcester; an uncle, John "Jack Ruffo of Worcester; an aunt, Dominica "Minnie" Ciapenelli of Shrewsbury; many nieces including Debbie Perro of California, Darlene Perro and Doreen McElroy both of Worcester, as well as many nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by a sister, Barbara A. (Ginese) Perro; two twin great-grandsons, Andrew and Anthony Harwood. Anthony was born in Worcester, the son of the late Anthony J. Ginese, Sr. and Mary F. (Ruffo) Ginese. He graduated from Commerce High School and has lived here all his life. Anthony served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. He worked as a Police Officer for the City of Worcester for ten years. He then worked as a warehouse manager for Hendries Frozen Foods for thirty-four years retiring in 1994. Anthony was a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan. His greatest enjoyment in life was his family. Anthony's wife, children and grandchildren were his pride and joys. Anthony will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him. Services for Anthony will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27th from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior to his funeral mass.
