Joan I. Drummond, 75, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 23, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Drummond, son, Jason Drummond of Shrewsbury, daughter, Cheri Drummond and her grandson, Max, both of Nashville, TN, and stepson, Michael Drummond, of Houston, TX, and his daughter, Caitlin. She had many nephews and nieces and her sister, Doris Legere, predeceased her Joan was born in Biddeford, Maine, daughter of the late Joel Henri and Marie (Bard) LaPierre and moved to Shrewsbury in 1977. She was a graduate of Deering High School in Portland, Maine. Joan was a flight attendant for North East Airlines, before joining Sears and Roebuck, where she worked for many years before she retired. Joan enjoyed cooking, gardening and loved to travel. She was a long time member of the Women's Auxiliary American Legion Post #234. Joan's funeral service will be held Wednesday February 27,at 11:00A.M. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be from 4:00PM to 6:00PM on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Massachusetts Memorial Veteran Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St. Winchendon, MA.
