Lazarus "Larry" James Vincequere

December 19, 1920 — February 20, 2013

Lazarus "Larry" James Vincequere, 92, of Worcester passed peacefully Wednesday February 20, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 63 years Beatrice (Giangaspro) Vincequere passed away May 1, 2008. "Larry" is survived by his devoted children; a son James Vincequere and his wife Paula of Shrewsbury, three daughters Elaine Duquette of San Diego, Mary Ann Howe and her husband John of Ft. Lauderdale Florida, and Doralee Desper and her husband Kenneth of Cherry Valley, a sister Josephine Drenzyk of Worcester, and eight Grandchildren; Jeffrey Keenan, Philip Hollyer, Marc Vincequere and his wife Jennifer, Andrea Plante and her husband Alan, Eric Vincequere, Jamie Vincequere and his wife Erin, Jacqueline Hollyer, and Mark Hollyer and his wife Tracey, five great grandchildren, Jimmy, Alexander, Katelyn, Aubrey, and Lauren , and many nephews and nieces. A son Francis Vincequere died in 1997, He was also predeceased by two sisters, Mary DeFusco, and Lucille Robichaud, and two brothers Thomas and Anthony Vincequere. Larry was born in Worcester son of the late Antonio and Elizabeth (Quintavalle) Vincequere, and lived in Worcester all of his life. He served in the United States Army during WW11 in the Sicilian and European Campaign. Larry worked in the Shipping Department for The Telecron, G.E. and Timex Corporations for many years before he retired. After retirement he wanted to stay busy so he went to work for Spags where he worked for over ten years before retiring. Larry was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Loreto, and was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Larry along with Beatrice were avid bowlers in their day and belonged to many leagues at the Town &Country and Thunderbird Bowling Lanes. He loved being outdoors and tending to his garden, and enjoyed the beach. Among his most precious times were those spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be truly be missed by his family and friends. Larry's funeral will be held Tuesday February 26, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto. 37 Massasoit Rd. Visitation with the family in the funeral home will be from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday evening. Interment with his wife will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
