Luis E. "Luisito" Rivera, 28 of Worcester died peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in St. Vincent's Hospital surrounded by his many family and friends. Luis leaves behind his loving wife of five and half years, Samantha M. (Banfill) Rivera; their two sons, Dante and Kadyn; his mother, Araminta Rosario all of Worcester; his father, Roberto Reyes of Springfield; three maternal sisters, Maria "Koko" Nieves, Zolaida Cooper and her husband Errol all of Worcester and Dr. Julissa Nunez of New Jersey; his grandmother, Julia "Mama Julia" Rios of Worcester; a mother and father-in-law, Violet and Joseph Banfill; a sister-in-law, Diane Shiraka and her husband Timothy of Leicester; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He also leaves three paternal brothers, Miguel, Johnn and Luis Rivera, Jr.; two paternal sisters, Wanda and Nidya Rivera. Luis was born in Worcester, a son of Luis Rivera, Sr. and has lived here all his life. He graduated from Burncoat High School. Luis worked for J.A.M Landscaping for five years. He loved his dogs, Tank, Lola and Goliath. He also loved four-wheeling and riding his motorcycle. A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 4-7 P.M. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Luis' funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester, please go directly to church.
