Dateline Worcester Eleanor R. (Falcone) Valery,83, of Worcester died peacefully Sunday February 10, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband George "Red" Valery Jr. died in 1999. Eleanor is survived by her loving children, two daughters Vanessa Williamson and her husband Arthur, and Brenda Valery- Bern and her husband Skip, her son George "Rusty" Valery lll and his wife Christine of Millbury, Three grandchildren Arthur "AJ" Wiliamson, Storm Valery, and Olivia Valery. She is also survived by her brothers Anthony Falcone, and Louis Falcone, and many nephews and nieces. Eleanor was predeceased by four sisters Caroline Pingetore, Lena Bottis, Mary Vescera,and Philomena Catanzaro, and a brother Charles Falcone. She was also predeceased by her cousin Ruth Falcone whom she considered a sister. Eleanor was born in Worcester daughter of the late Louis and Angelina (Gabriella) Falcone and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. Eleanor enjoyed being a domestic godess , and loved entertaining in her home. Among her interests she enjoyed gardening, reading, crochet and doing all sorts of crafts. Eleanor was a big Red Sox fan and loved to cook. However her most precious times were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Eleanor's family and friends often said they broke the mold when they made her, because she was a very affirmative women who did things "her way"before it was fashionable for women to do and say things outside the home! She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Notre Long Term Care Center including all the Health Care Professionals, the Pastoral Department, the Physical Therapy and Dietary Departments, and Patient Activities Department, also everyone who made Eleanor's stay there a bit easier for her and the family. Eleanor's funeral will be held Wednesday February 13, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 37 Massasoit Rd. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Tuesday(tonight)February 12, 2013 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Interment next to her husband will be in St. John's Cemetery.
