Evelyn R. (Trafecante) Grudzinskas, 79, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013, in UMass Hospital. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Richard J. Grudzinskas, with whom she would have celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage this coming April. She is also survived by her loving daughter, Debra A. Girouard and her husband Jeffrey of Worcester; a sister, Rita Leary of Worcester; a brother, Robert Trafecante of Worcester; two grandsons, Brian J. Girouard and Andrew R. Girouard and his wife Cara; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Francis and Jeremiah Trafecante; as well as by three sisters, Irene Cote, Rose Monroe and Catherine Jarvis. Evelyn was born in Worcester, daughter of Gennaro and Helen (Parmenter) Trafecante, and has lived here all her life. Evelyn's focus in life was always on her family. She remained close to her parents, brothers and sisters, and built a home filled with joy and good memories for her husband and daughter. She was given the gift of two wonderful grandsons and they became a welcome addition to her daily routine of providing love, support and kindness. For it was not worldly goods that brought happiness, rather it was the simple time spent with the ones she loved. Calling hours for Evelyn will be held on Tuesday, February 12, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 13, from the funeral home, departing at 10:30 a.m. for a Funeral Mass to be held at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Entombment will follow in Saint John's Mausoleum, Worcester.
