She was also predeceased by her brother Charles, and sisters Lorraine Cotner, June Nieber and Arlene Pluto. A World War II bride, Mary ( Peggy to most she knew ) was a product of her generation. Her life was centered around her family. She was a wonderful "home cook" and her memory will live on through her recipes!! She also had a love of jewelry and was never known to have a hair out of place! Although she moved to Massachusetts in 1954, living in Worcester and Leicester, her heart was always in her home town of Shamokin, PA and accordingly her funeral and burial will take place there. (YOU'RE FINALLY GETTING TO GO HOME NONNA!) The family wishes to thank the staff at Tri-Valley Elder Services, her homemaker Joyce and the compassionate social worker and nurses in the PCU unit at St. Vincent for the wonderful care given to Mary in her final days. Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, Worcester is assisting with the arrangements.
