Florence V. (Norrman) Penny, 75, of Whitinsville formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday February 2nd 2013 with her family gathered beside her. Florence was born in Worcester, her parents were the late, Sixten and Lilly (Sundberg) Norrman. She graduated from Commerce High School, met and married her husband for the next 51 years, Joseph F. Penny Sr. Together they settled in Worcester to raise their family before moving to Whitinsville in 1982. Florence is survived by her husband Joseph; three devoted children, Karen A. Penny of Whitinsville, Joseph F. Penny, Jr. and his wife Diana of Auburn and James P. Penny of Worcester; two sisters, Emma Bovin of Whitinsville and Ruth Pajala of Oxford; three grandchildren, a great grandson; many nieces and nephews, especially Lilly Murphy of Holden. Six brothers, John "Harold", Walter, Helmer, Carl, George and Verner Norrman and a sister, Astrid Beaudreau all pre deceased her. At one time Florence worked as a Nurse's Aide for the Odd Fellows Home. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. A very independent woman who was loved by everyone she met, and who loved life enjoying the special times she shared with her family, especially her daughter Karen and sisters, Emma, Ruth and Astrid. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry, and long rides in the car. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, February 6th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Thursday, February 7th from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:00 am in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
