Frederick Faulkner, 79, of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday January 19th 2013 at home with family gathered beside him. Fred was born in Norwich Conn., a son of the late Roger and Eileen (Cox) Faulkner. He grew up in Connecticut joined the U.S. Army to serve his country during the Korean War. He then moved to Worcester and has lived here ever since. Fred is survived by his devoted daughter Darlene B. Nugent and her husband Thomas Jr. with whom he lived; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Thomas Nugent, Jr.; his former wife of 27 years, Joyce B. (Smith) Faulkner; Nieces, nephews and extended family. A brother Teddy Faulkner and a sister Irene Dusoe pre deceased him. Fred worked as a furnace operator for Mass Steel treating and retiring from PresMet. He was a wealth of knowledge about U.S. History and the U.S. Wars and enjoyed gaining more knowledge about history. Fred lived and breathed the Red Sox and spent many hours watching and enjoying the games. He loved apple pie, Chevrolets, animals, and the good Old U.S.A. He loved music especially Frank Sinatra and his "Golden Voice" and truly lived his life "His Way". Fred known as the silver fox was a very private man. He lived for his family, especially his children and grandchildren and found his most special moment with them. He will be dearly missed by all. There are no calling hours. A celebration of life memorial will be held at a future date. Memorial remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The Faulkner family would like to thank the staff of St. Vincent Hospital and Metro West Homecare and hospice for the compassionate care they gave to Fred.
