Theresa E. (Courtney) Larson, 90, a 50 year resident of Boylston passed away Friday, January 18th 2013 in Falmouth with her devoted daughter by her side. Theresa was born in Worcester, one of nine children born to Irish immigrants William and Nellie (Sheehan) Courtney. She graduated from Worcester Public Schools, enrolled in several college courses. She met and married the love of her life, Paul Larson; together they lived in Worcester before moving to Boylston to raise their family until Paul passed away May 10th of 2009. Two years later, Theresa moved to Falmouth to be closer to her daughter. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sheila A. Kosewski of East Falmouth, a brother Richard Courtney of Shrewsbury and a sister, Ann Tanona of Worcester; four granddaughters she adored and who adored her, Kellie MacDonald, Kerrie Blanchette, Barbara and Kristin Larson; three great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her son, Robert Larson passed away in 2005, Six siblings, William, James, Edward and Thomas Courtney, her twin sister Eleanor Courtney and sister Catherine Courtney also pre deceased her. Theresa worked many years for the Commonwealth of Mass, Department of Mental Health at various mental health centers in the Worcester area including, Worcester State, Westboro and Grafton State Hospitals before retiring. Theresa was a longtime member and active volunteer for St Mary of the Hills Church in Boylston. A life member and past president of the West Boylston VFW Post 6907 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to read, help her friends, tend to her garden and birds, host cookouts and family gatherings. Most precious in her life was her family, she cherished the times she could celebrate with them, shop and cook for them and just enjoy their company. They were her life. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Monday, January 21st from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester. Her funeral will be celebrated Tuesday, January 22nd from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in the church she loved, St Mary of the Hills, 630 Cross Street.
