Victoria Helen (Novakowski) DiLeo, 92, of Worcester, passed away peacefully January 14th, 2013 in Autumn Village Nursing Home. Victoria's husband of 52 years, Chester F. DiLeo, passed away on November 23, 1991. She leaves her devoted children: Marie Chase and her husband Victor of Haverhill, Ann F. DiLeo of Spencer, Chester D. DiLeo and his wife Marcia of Worcester, and Vincent P. DiLeo and his wife Janet of Shrewsbury. She also leaves several cherished grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Adishian of Fresno, Ca. She is predeceased by her brothers: Joseph, Walter, Francis, and Edward and her sisters: Helen (Sr. Mary Olimpia), and Theresa Pancare. Victoria was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Viola (Morris) Novakowski, and lived in Worcester all her life. She attended Commerce High School and Salter Secretarial School of Business. She was a subrogation specialist for Aetna Insurance Agency for 17 years where she was instrumental in the recovery of over a million dollars for three successive years. Vicki worked as a volunteer for 20 years at UMass Hospital. Also at St. Ann/Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, she actively participated as lector, Christian Doctrine teacher, Partners in Charity collector, Women's Guild and Golden Years member. Over the years, Vickie enjoyed cooking, traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 16th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. With a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM in St. Ann/Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the funeral home prior to leaving for Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the renovation fund at St. Ann/Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at the above address.
