James "Jim" Grasseschi, 48 of Hubbardston formerly of Worcester passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner after being stricken ill in his sleep. Jim was born in Worcester his father was the late John Grasseschi. He graduated from Holy Name High School and earned his degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He met and married the love of his life and best friend for the next 24 years, Michell M. (Giguere) Grasseschi. Together they moved to Oxford for ten years to raise their three children. In 2000, Jim and Michell, bought a piece of land and farm in the countryside of Hubbardston where they have lived for the past 12 years. After graduation from WPI, Jim entered the family business; Grasseschi Plumbing and Heating when his father became ill assuming the role of President , guiding, directing and nurturing it to where it stands now. He is survived by his wife and best friend of the past 24 years, Michell M. (Giguere) Grasseschi; three children, Brittany, Nicholas and Amanda Grasseschi; his mother Diane (Prince) Grasseschi of Worcester; three sisters, Maria Desy of Millbury, Gina Correiro and Lisa Grasseschi both of Worcester; Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends. Jim was an active in many organizations and associations throughout the years including, the MCA, Merit Construction Alliance as a member and board of director, ABC; Associated Builders and Contractors Association; Skills USA; PHCCMA Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors of Massachusetts; CMEA Central Mass Employees Association; ASM Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts, the Better Business Bureau and the Grafton Hill Business Association. He and Michell were members of Mount Pleasant Country Club and he enthusiastically loved Golf. When not working or home with family Jim could be found on the Club Golf Course playing or enjoying social functions. He also loved to play the piano, exercise and compete. He would run religiously and at onetime participated in the Boston Marathon, and the Pan Mass Bicycle Challenge. Although he was head of a business, he always found time to devote to his wife, children and family. They were the center of his world and inspiration. He enjoyed every moment they could shared together. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Jim's family, Sunday January 13th from 3 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Monday, January 14th in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. (Please go directly to church). Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
