Joyce M. (MacKenzie) Vasquez, 60, of Worcester passed away suddenly at home Friday January 4, 2013. Joyce was born in Worcester one of two daughters born to Daniel and Julia (Shilinsky) MacKenzie. She graduated from North High School class of 1970, and earned her degree from Quinsigamond Community College. Joyce took employment as an office manager for the Guild of St Agnes Day Care, where she remained many years. Joyce has lived in the home she grew up in all her life. Joyce is survived by her husband of 10 years, Jose A. Vasquez; a son, Jared T. Gianfriddo of Worcester; a daughter Marie A. (Gianfriddo) Graveson and her husband Jason of Dudley; her sister and best friend Carol Coker of Worcester; three cherished granddaughters, Julia, Alicia, and Giana; her mother in law Edel Vasquez in Philadelphia; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Joyce was a member of St Stephen Church. In life Joyce cherished her family, especially her grandchildren who were her inspiration. The most enjoyable times of her life were spent with them. Joyce was a woman with an enormous and generous heart who would constantly care about others well-being over her own. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Wednesday January 9th 2013 from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated Thursday January 10th from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:30 am in St Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
