Efrain A. "Frank" Carrero, 83, of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday, January 5th 2013 in his home surrounded by the family he loved so much. Efrain was born in Rincon, Puerto Rico, one of eight children of Ramon and Candida (Acevedo) Carrero. He grew up in Rincon, lived in New York and Bridgeport Conn., before coming to Worcester in 1970. Efrain is survived by the family he loved so much; his devoted wife and best friend, Baudilia (Ocasio) Carrero; his six children, Lucy Mendoza and her husband Luis in New Jersey, Carmen Gonzalez and her husband Wilfredo in Rhode Island, Margie Carrion and her husband Edward of Auburn, Millie Reyes and her husband Angel of Worcester, Jack Carrero and his Cynthia, Nelson Carrero and his wife Christina all of Worcester; two sister, Rosa Rivera in New York and Nereida Vasquez in Florida; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A son, Frank Carrero passed away in 1992. Five other siblings predeceased him. Efrain worked as a presser for the White Cleaner's Corporation over 30 years. He also worked for Terry's cleaners. Efrain was a devoted family man whose whole life was inspired by family. He was an enthusiastic Red Sox fan. He loved the great outdoors and fish, playing dominoes with his wife and celebrating the holidays with his family. Efrain's funeral will be held Wednesday, January 9th at 12 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Wednesday, January 9th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the service.
