Theresa D Troiano

Theresa D. (Falco) Troiano, 97, of Boynton Beach, Florida formerly of Worcester and Shrewsbury passed away January 1st 2013 with her devoted daughter , Louise by her side. Theresa was born in Worcester, a daughter of Michael and Margaret (Riggieri) Falco. She grew up and was educated in Worcester, met and married the love of her life for the next 63 years John J. Troiano. Together they settled in the Massasoit Road area to raise their family until John passed away in 1998. She then lived in Shrewsbury until moving to Florida and Pocasset to be with her daughter, Louise in 2008. Theresa worked for a time for the City of Worcester School Department at Providence Junior High before retiring. Theresa is survived by the family she loves so much: Her daughters, Louise M. Ricker with whom she lived, Margaret Norquist and her husband David; daughter in law, Kathryn "Kay" Troiano, sister Jean Sabatalo; and sister in law Nancy Falco all of Worcester; two grandchildren Margaret Cioffi and David Norquist; six great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Her son, Vito A. Troiano passed away in 2010 and grandson John Troiano in 2004. Three brothers, Santo "Sam", Joseph and William "Billy" Falco, a son in law Donald Ricker, and brother in law Angelo Sabatalo also pre deceased her. Theresa was a founding member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. A member of its women's guild and former Girl Scout Troop Leader for 10 years. In Pocasset, Theresa was a member of St John the Evangelist Church and its women's guild. Theresa was a vibrant person who loved dancing, summers on Cape Cod and time spent with her beloved family and many friends. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, January 6th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday, January 7th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Her nephew the Rev. Ronald G Falco will be principal celebrant. Burial next to her husband will follow in St John Cemetery.
