Claire E. (Carriere) Lescault, 95 of Worcester passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the St. Francis Home with her family by her side. Claire's husband, Frank Lescault predeceases her. She is survived by three nieces, Jeanne Jette of Whitinsville, Lorraine Paquette of Millbury, Denise Niemitz and her spouse Tracy Markham of Hardwick, MA; two great nephews, Steven Jette and his wife Joanna of Auburn and Carl Niemitz and his wife Brenda of Bloomfield, CT; four great nieces, Monique Hickey and her husband Michael of Medford, Christine Thurber and her husband Donald of Sutton, Emily Forrest and her husband John of Hamden, CT and Ellen Rafer and her husband Steven of Spencer; 10 great-great nephews and 3 great-great nieces. She is predeceased by a brother, Raymond Carriere; two sisters, Irene Carriere and Cecile Paquette. Claire was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Dora (Turcotte) Carriere and has lived here all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School. Claire worked as a Bookkeeper for over thirty years at the former Laipson Milk Company and St. Joseph's Church in Worcester. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Church being involved with the churches women's guild and served as the past president of the parish counsel. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and traveling. Claire's family would like to thank all the staff at AseraCare Hospice and the St. Francis Home for the outstanding care and compassion given to her in her time of need. Services for Claire will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, January 4th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the funeral home prior to her mass.
