Marie V. (Ventura) Papandrea, 77, of West Boylston, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her loving husband of forty-eight years, Arthur J. Papandrea, predeceased her on December 23, 2009. Marie is survived by a daughter, Mary Menard and her husband Michael of Holden; three sons, Arthur J. Papandrea, Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Sterling, Anthony Papandrea and his wife Heather of Sterling and Paul Papandrea and his wife Danielle of Holden; two sisters, Grace Papandrea of Auburn and Antoinette Lovejoy of West Boylston; nine grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Maurice and Carmello "Chuck" Ventura, Phyllis Ventura and Rita Hosler. Marie was born in Worcester, daughter of Julius and Anna (Latino) Ventura and later graduated from Worcester High School of Commerce. She worked as a medical transcriber for the Fallon Clinic for many years, having previously worked in administration at the former Worcester City Hospital. While working helped pay the bills and make ends meet, her primary occupation was that of being a wonderful wife and mother. Her family was her focus and children and grandchildren, were the lights of her eyes. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, following local and national politics and "The Wonder of It All". Calling hours for Marie will be held on Friday, December 28, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 29, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
