James M. D'Andrea, 54, of Worcester passed away Friday, December 21st, 2012 after a brief illness. James was born in Worcester, a son of Joseph and Barbara (Sweeney) D'Andrea. He graduated from South High School where his was a standout in football and track. He then attended Quinsigamond Community College and earned his degree from Nichols College. He has lived here all his life. Jim is survived by his children, James D'Andrea and Kathleen D'Andrea; his former wife Eilene (Nevins) D'Andrea all of Dudley; two brothers, Joseph D'Andrea and his wife Julie of Worcester and Jay D'Andrea of Springfield Missouri; a sister, Cheryl D'Andrea of Worcester; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. James was employed as an accountant for the Norton Company for more than 20 years. James was a member of St Andrew the Apostle Church.He was a man who enjoyed a good laugh, could light up a room when he entered it, enjoyed the family gatherings and holidays. He was a very proud and loving father that loved watching his children succeed in life. He enjoyed when his children were young watching them compete at all the sports activities and games his children played in and most proud when son, James graduated from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, commissioned and promoted to 1st Lt. in The United States Army after serving in Afghanistan. He was also so proud that daughter, Kathleen M. consistently made the Dean's List and will be graduating in May from Curry College with a degree in Nursing. He will be missed by them as well as many friends and family members. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, December 27th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Friday, December 28th from the funeral home with a procession to St Andrew the apostle church, 5 Spaulding St where his Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
