John Masiello, of Cocoa Florida, formerly of Rutland passed away Saturday November 17th 2012 in Florida after a period of declining health. Born August 2, 1941 in Worcester, John was a son of Joseph and Josephine (Murgo) Masiello. He grew up, educated, joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard serving and living in Worcester and Rutland before moving to Florida several years ago. John was a friendly, giving person who was an avid muscle car enthusiast and collector. He could regularly be seen in his youth with his cars and friends at the former Speedy's on Shrewsbury Street. John began his car enthusiasm as an 18 year old interested in Drag racing and continued his love for cars until his death. John is survived by his longtime companion of the past 45 years, Judy Rourke; a brother Dominic Masiello, and his children, Steven, Danielle and Tony, each with whom he had a special bond; Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, extended family and friends in the Worcester and Cocoa Florida areas. A memorial Mass for John will be celebrated Saturday, December 15th at 9:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Memorial remembrances in John's Name can be made to UMass Medicine Cancer Walk, 333 South Street, 4th Floor, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
