Lloyd J. Corey, 78, of West Boylston, formerly of Coburn Ave in Worcester, a member of the Worcester iconic "Corey's Hot Dog" family passed away peacefully Monday, November 26th 2012, with family by his side after a period of declining health. Lloyd was born in Worcester, one of five children of the late Thomas and Emma (Lloyd) Corey. He worked at Worcester State Hospital and Sandcliff Mfg. Company before retiring in 1997. Lloyd is survived by his devoted wife of six years Brenda (Williams) Corey; his children, Stephen and Linda Corey, David and Lindsay Corey, Nancy Corey, John and Chris Corey, Susan LaFlamme, Nancy Williams, Fermin Sawtell and Wanda Martinez; his former wife, Eleanor (Demers) Corey; Many grand, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In his youth Lloyd enjoyed Camping, Fishing, Bingo and his New England Patriots. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday November 29th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A Trisagion service will be celebrated at 6 pm in the funeral home. His funeral will be held Friday November 30th from the funeral home with a Service at 10:00 am in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St. Worcester. The Corey family would like to thank the VNA care Hospice of Central Massachusetts and his CNA Sheena Sierra for the care, compassion and understanding during a difficult time.
