Barbara L. Myers

Barbara L. (Holmquist) Myers, 90, of Oxford formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. Barbara's husband, Richard D. Myers, Sr. died in 2007. Barbara is survived by two daughters, Barbara "Bonnie" L. Leroux and her husband Leonard of Oxford with whom she lived, and Cecileann Clark-Boylan and her husband George of Coral Springs, FL; two sons, Richard D. Myers Jr. and his wife Robin of Shrewsbury, Peter A. Myers and his wife Michelle of Pittsfield; a brother, James Holmquist of Summerville S.C.; a sister, Dorothy Peterson of Spring Hill, FL; eight loving grandchildren, Deborah Sargent, David Leroux, Nicole Patterson, Bree Norrman, Richard D. Myers, III, Brooke Dell'Ovo, Lindsay and Courtney Myers; eleven great grandchildren, Robert Hiitt, Nicholas Sargent, Taylor and Louis Sargent, Cole, Lucy, and Samuel Patterson, Morgan and Mackenna Norrman, Jordyn and Cameron Myers; one great great grandchild, Robert Paul Hiitt, III and many nephews and nieces. Barbara was predeceased by a sister Mary Urban, and brothers Arthur and Alfred Holmquist. Barbara was born in Worcester daughter of the late Alfred and Grace (Sawyer) Holmquist and lived in Worcester most of her life. She was a graduate of North High School. Barbara was an avid bowler for many years. Barbara enjoyed taking care of her home, but the times she treasured most were those spent with her family especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Barbara's funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. The burial for Barbara and her husband Richard will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to her great grandson "Super Samuel", checks made payable to Samuel M. Patterson-M.A.U.T.M.A, 19 Mountain Rd., Princeton, MA. 01541.
