March 25, 1916 — October 17, 2012

Lucretia (Casso) Monfreda-Wylie, 96, of Millbury, formerly of Worcester and Shrewsbury, died peacefully Wednesday October 17, 2012 in the Autumn Village. Her first husband Frank Monfreda died in 1942, and her second husband Dr. Samuel Wylie died in 1989. Lucretia is survived by two sisters, Helen Casso, and Mary (Casso)Lee- Baylor both of Worcester, Her loving nephew Bob Lee who was her primary caregiver, three grandchildren Ann Mary Coyne, Beth Giannini, and Frank Giannini, also five great grandchildren, and a niece Carol Mangiatordi, and several nieces and nephews. Lucretia was predeceased by a Daughter Rosemarie (Monfreda) Giannini, two brothers Michael and Joseph Casso, and a sister Carmella Mangiatordi. Lucretia was born in Worcester daughter of Angelo and Raffiella (Mazzone) Casso ,and lived in Millbury for 33 years. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Lucretia was a Group Supervisor for the New England Telephone Company for over 25 years before she retired. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, The New England Telephone Pioneers Club, and AARP. She enjoyed being with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed.The family would like to thank the Staff at the Autumn Village for their Kindness and Compassion shown to Lucretia during her stay there. Funeral Services for Lucretia will be held at a later date and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Stephen Coyne Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the Webster Five Savings Bank ,400 Southbridge St. Auburn, MA. 01505. The family has selected the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. to assist them with arrangements.
