Violet (Harootunian) Boosahda, 83, of Worcester, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 14th 2012 surrounded by the family she loved so much. Violet is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Harold F. Boosahda, Jr; two sons, Harold F. Boosahda III and his wife Margarette of Herndon, VA, Scott P. Boosahda Sr. and his wife Sue of Worcester; a daughter Andrea M. Boosahda and her husband Jones Inman of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, Peter Haroutian; three sisters, Stella Tiscione, Shirley DelleFemine and Rose Mooshian all of Worcester; five grandchildren, Erica Bush and her husband Bill, Christina, Vanessa and Scott Boosahda Jr., and Blake Burton; two great grandchildren, Sierra and Bill Bush Jr.; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. A sister, Mary Surabian pre deceased her. Violet was born in Worcester daughter of the late Tateos and Mary (Merserlian) Haroutian. She graduated from the former Commerce High School, met and married the love of her life for the next 62 years Harold. Together they have lived and raised their family in Worcester. Mrs. Boosahda worked many years for Digital Equipment Corporation before retiring in 1992. She previously served her church St George Orthodox Cathedral, as church secretary for 25 years. Violet was a lifelong member of St George Orthodox Cathedral. A member and past president of the church women's club and a church volunteer at many functions. While her children were young, she took an active part in the Rice Square School Parent Teacher Association as a member and president. She also had a deep devotion in the work done by St Jude Children's Hospital, and assumed an role in numerous capacities locally in support of its research. She was recognized locally for the effort by the local chapter. Mrs. Boosahda was also a member of the DEC retirement association and volunteer for the Worcester Senior Center. Mrs. Boosahda's deep love for her family was referenced in the interest she took with them. Nothing made her more happy and satisfied then being with them at the holidays and family gatherings. She cherished cooking and caring for them. They were her life's inspiration. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Wednesday October 17th from 9:30 am to 10:45 am in St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis Tenn. The Boosahda family wishes to thank the nursing staff of St Vincent Hospital for the care comfort and compassion they gave to Violet and our family.
