Norman "Sam" E. Guertin, 67, of Worcester passed away peacefully September 25th 2012 with his family by his side after period of declining health. Sam is survived by his wife of 45 years, Johanna (Rossi) Guertin; two daughters, Stephanie Hooper and her husband MSG. Walter J. Hooper, US Army, Special Forces and Michelle Guertin, also an Ironworker of Union Local 7 (following in her Father's footsteps) ; two brothers, Robert Guertin and his wife Janet, Roger Guertin and his wife Janet; a sister, Pauline Anctil and her husband Alex; three grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda and Rebecca Parks; a great granddaughter Ava; an aunt, Irene, nieces, nephews, several cousins and friends. Norman was born in Worcester, a son of Alfred and Germaine (Madore) Guertin. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1961 and served his country during the Vietnam War. Sam worked as an Ironworker for the AFL-CIO, Ironworkers Union local 7, assisting in the iron structure of many skyscrapers and buildings in New England. Sam was also a Harley enthusiast, and an avid NE sports fan. Memorial services and inurnment of ashes with Military honors will be celebrated Thursday, October 18th 2012 at 11:00 am in the Massachusetts Veterans cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street in Winchendon Mass.
