Richard G. Aboody, 69 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2012 in UMASS Hospital surrounded by his family. Richard is survived by his loving wife of forty -four years, Sandra M. (Brunelle) Aboody; two sons, Richard Paul Aboody and his wife Mary of Cambridge, MN and Christian Joseph Aboody and his wife Denise of Bloomington, MN; a daughter, Susan Grace Aboody and her boyfriend Wayne Kallio and his daughter Jacinthia; a brother, Paul Aboody; two sisters, Naphie Samara and Grace Aboody; five grandchildren, Annalise, Joseph, Alysia, Chrsitian and Sophia; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers, John, Joseph and George "Buddy" Aboody; two sisters, Adele MacKoul and Marion Haddad. Richard was born in Worcester, a son of the late Paul and Helen (Kalil) Aboody, Sr. and has lived here all his life. He along with his family owned and operated the El Morocco Restaurant for many years. Richard biggest passion was entertaining, Jazz music, antiquing and horse racing. He will forever be remembered for his smile, his passion for helping anyone who needed it and for being a friend to all. Richie's funeral will be held Wednesday, October 3rd from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., with a service at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton St., Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Tuesday, October 2nd from 5 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home. The Aboody family would like to thank everyone who has cared for and helped Richie through this tough time.
