Katie N Anderson

Katie N. (DuPree) Anderson, 70, of Worcester passed away to the lord Monday, September 24, 2012 with family by her side. Katie was born in Reynolds, Georgia a daughter of Eger and Luvenia (Colbert) Dupree and has lived in Worcester more than 50 years. Katie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Lester Williams; a son, Perry Anderson and his wife Iavani and their children, Katrese, Idira and Alejandro; two brothers, Joseph Dupree and Robert Carson both in Macon, GA; a sister, Georgia Davis in Atlanta; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Katie worked as a care giver for the State of Massachusetts, Department of Social Services many years before retiring. Katie was a member of Second Baptist church, and the Nokoma Temple #36, IBPOWE Elks Lodge. She loved to Shop and cook. Funeral services for Katie will be held Wednesday, October 3rd at 12 noon in Second Baptist Church, Hammond Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 11:00 am to 12 Noon. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
