John R Rano III

John R. Rano, III, 51 of Auburn passed away at home in his sleep, Tuesday September 18th 2012 after a long battle with heart disease. John is survived by his beloved family; His mother, Mary Jean (Mercadante ) Rano; brothers and sisters, Sherry A. Rano of Oxford, Michael A. Rano and his wife Sandra of Leicester, and Twins Robin M. Rano of Auburn and Robbie M. Rano of Oxford; 6 nephews and nieces, John R Rano, IV, James and Brittany Murphy, Justin, Jason, and Jamie; great nephew and niece, Briana and Nathan; Many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, extended family and friends including his uncle and godfather William Mercadante of Slidell LA. John was born in Worcester, his father was the late John R Rano, Jr. He grew up in Auburn, graduated from Auburn High School class of 1979 and lived for a time in Shrewsbury before moving back to Auburn. John worked as an Auto body mechanic for Canterbury Auto body in Worcester and previously for LaMountain Brothers in Oxford. John was a gentle soul, who enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles and hot rod cars. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Friday, September 21st from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be celebrated Saturday morning from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
