Chandler J. Wyman, Jr., 76, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Chandler is survived by his wife of nearly fifty-five years, Shirley A. (Dalzell) Wyman; a son, David C. Wyman, Sr. of Worcester and his partner, Lynn A. McNally of Holden; a daughter, Cindy L. Ide and her husband Mark C. Ide, Sr. of North Grafton; a brother, Kenneth P. Wyman of Holden; a sister, Patricia A. LaJoie of San Diego; three grandchildren, David C. Wyman, Jr. and his wife Jill J. Wyman , Mark C. Ide, Jr. and Ashley E. Ide; many nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, son of the late, Chandler J. Sr. and Mary G. (Carbone) Wyman, and has lived here all his life. He graduated from Saint Stephen's Parochial School and Worcester Boy's Trade. He served his nation in the U.S. Army Reserve. Mr. Wyman retired in 2001, after twenty-three years, as director of Facilities Engineering from Marlborough Hospital. He had previously worked as an electrician for the IBEW Local 96, and was a fifty year member of the union. Chandler was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church, and was active in their Saint Vincent de Paul Society for 42 years; and served as Past President, he was also a member of the Worcester County Electrical League. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, coin and stamp collecting, and was an avid sports fan. Chandler was extremely proud of his grandchildren, and found great comfort and joy in being surrounded by them. Calling hours for Chandler will be held on Wednesday, September 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be held on Thursday, September 13, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society and Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
