Elaine (Collaro) O'Callaghan,70, of Worcester died peacefully Friday September 7, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Donald C. O'Callaghan, two daughters; Sandra L. Manning and her husband Leroy of Worcester, Toni O'Callaghan and her husband John, two grandchildren Joseph and Anthony Latuga, A brother Francis Collaro of Ct. and two sisters; Florine Sampson and Jean Backlund, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Elaine was predeceased by a son Jeffrey O'Callaghan. Elaine was born in Worcester daughter of the late Anthony and Adeline (Felice) Collaro and has lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Elaine was a homemaker, something she really enjoyed. Elaine attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church. She really enjoyed cooking and taking time to be with her grandchildren they were her pride and joy. Elaine made the holidays so special for the family. Those were the times, she treasured the most. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. David Jackman and his team at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and the Visiting Nurse Association for all their kindness and compassion shown to Elaine and her family during her illness. It is greatly appreciated. At Elaine's request, all services will be private and at the family's convenience. Donations in memory of Elaine may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute P O Box 849168 Boston, Ma.02284-9168. The family has selected the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. to assist them with Elaine's funeral arrangements.
