Retired Worcester Police Lieutenant, Raymond F. Cybulski, 87 of Worcester passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 22nd after a period of declining health in his home surrounded by the family he loved so much. Ray was born in Worcester a son of the late Frank and Julia (Wylegala) Cybulski. He graduated from St Mary's High School, earned his degree from Worcester Junior College and furthered his education by taking courses at Quinsigamond Community and Babson College. He lived here all his life. Raymond is survived by the family he loved so much and who loved him; His devoted wife and partner of the past 63 years, Dorothy (Gagner) Cybulski; his children, Diane and Gerald "Jerry" Grande, of Shrewsbury, Dr. Raymond Cybulski, Jr. and Becky Pollastrini of San Diego Calif.; A granddaughter Lauren and a great grandson Silas; his sister, Phyllis Haire of Worcester; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A brother Jack Cybulski pre deceased him. Raymond was a member of the Worcester Police Department for over 33 years, retiring as a Lieutenant of the BCI unit in 1981. In 19 Ray was honored with a Police Citation for Bravery. He was a member of the Retired Worcester Police and Fire fighters Association, the Worcester Police Relief, the Massachusetts Police Association, the Adelphi Council Knights of Columbus in Shrewsbury and the Greendale Retired Men's Club. Ray was also an accomplished golfer and held a Private Pilots License for many years. Ray's funeral will be held Monday August 27th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St follow by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd Shrewsbury. Burial will be held Tuesday in the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, Winchendon. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, August 26th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Ray's name may be made to the Veterans of Central Massachusetts Shelter, 69 Grove St Worcester 01609.
