George F. DeFalco, Sr.died July 28, 2012 at home at the age of 96.He was born in Worcester, on January 18, 1916 the son of Thomas and Mary (Zito) DeFalco. He is survived by his wife of 33 years Domenica (Bracciale)"Dolly" DeFalco, his three sons, George F. DeFalco Jr.and his wife Elizabeth, of Westborough , William T. DeFalco of Fort Lauderdale, FL. And Robert K. DeFalco and his wife Lynal, of Jacksonville FL.He is also survived by his step daughter Maeann Bush and her husband Gary of North Brookfield with whom he lived, 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. George was predeceased by his first wife of 37 years Helena (McGrail) DeFalco, and his two brothers William DeFalco and John DeFalco. Mr. DeFalco attended south High School and Worcester Academy. He was a graduate of the College of The Holy Cross, class of 1939. In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Third Marine Division in the Pacific Theatre and saw action on Guam, Bouganville and Iwo Jima. He was discharged with the rank of Captain in 1946. Soon after returning home he joined the family business, DeFalco Concrete , a supplier of ready mixed concrete throughout Worcester County. George was active in many civic organizations and was a member of the Massachusetts Concrete and Aggregate Producers Association. He attended Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church. An avid golfer, he was a past member of the Wachusett Country Club and Pleasant Valley Country Club where he was the club champion.He also won the title of club champion at Sky Lake and Inverrary South in Florida. Upon his retirement he and his wife Dolly enjoyed many happy years at the Jacksonville Country Club in Florida where he shot his age many times. Memorial services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours .In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt.
