Mary L. (Catacchio) Germain, 92, of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday, July 21nd with her devoted family gathered beside her after a period of declining health. Mary was born in Worcester, a daughter of Thomas and Antoinette (Guerra) Catacchio. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School. Mary met and married her cherished husband of 45 years, Louis J. Germain. In 1989, Louis passed away and Mary continued to reside in Worcester until the time of her passing. Mary is survived by her two devoted daughters, Susan Clemente and her husband John, Gina Breton and her husband William; five grandchildren she adored, John Clemente, Darlene Huscha, Michael & Mark Clemente, Jamie, John and Michael Breton; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Nick Catacchio of Millbury, and Jimmy Catacchio in Florida; a sister, Lena Sbrogna of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Three brother, Victor, Gino and Peter Catacchio pre deceased him. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, bingo and her trips to Foxwoods with family. Mary's life's enjoyment was her family; she was a typical devoted Italian mother who found family as the center of her life. She cherished the times she could cook for her family and the holidays she would spend with everybody around. Mary's funeral will be celebrated Tuesday, July 24th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a Mass at 10:30 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Entombment will follow in St John Mausoleum. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am Tuesday morning in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd.
