Boleslaus "Ray" Bondar, 88 of Worcester passed away peacefully Friday, July 20th 2012 after a period of declining health. Ray was born September 8th 1923 in Worcester a son of Stanislaus and Helen (Janiszewski) Bondar and has lived here all his life. Ray's wife and partner of 45 years, Mildred (Anderson) Bondar passed away in 1990. His son Richard Bondar passed away in 2008, a sister Hedwig Tamulewicz also pre deceased him. Ray is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Heath and her husband Paul of St Petersburg Florida; a daughter in law Margie Bondar of Worcester; four grandchildren, Jennifer Barney, Michael Heath, Jay and Andrew Bondar; a great granddaughter; Several extended family and friends. Ray worked for over 35 years as Shipping Manager for the Quinsig Automotive Warehouse before retiring. He previously worked for Wyman-Gordon Company, Rice Barton, and Peoples Laundry. Ray was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. He enjoyed watching Holy Cross Football, traveling to Florida to see his daughter, the beaches in Florida and Cape Cod. Ray's funeral will be held Thursday, July 26th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a mass at 10:30 in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial next to his wife will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9 am to 10 am Thursday prior to the mass.
