Michael Naples, 46, of Leicester, died peacefully Sunday July 1, 2012 in the UMASS Medical Center University Campus surrounded by his loving family. Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years Kim M. (Greenslit) Naples, two fantastic sons; Nicholas M. and Matthew A. Naples both at home, his dedicated and loving parents Angelo and Nina (Capurso) Naples, a wonderful brother Mark Naples and his wife Angela, a step-sister Linda Sharon, his mother in law Joyce Seamen and her husband Bruce, several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces, and cousins. Michael was born in Worcester and was raised in Jefferson . He was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, and attended Worcester State College, and the Correctional Officer Academy where he took many courses in Law Enforcment. Michael was a Sgt for the Worcester County Sherrifs Department for many years and was still employed there at the time of his passing. He was also a Funeral Assistant at the Manzi Funeral Home for many years, and also worked in the Construction Industry. Michael was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, he was a member of the Laborers Union # 243, and the Local PBA # 911. Mike was a great fan of Baseball and Football and coached his sons teams for many years. Michael loved to be in his Garden and doing landscape around his house. Although his most treasured times were those spent with his family especially his sons!. Michael was the consummate father. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Michael's family would like to give a special thanks to Tom Serafin and Joel Massa for all their loving and dedicated concerns for their dear friend Michael, during his battle with cancer. The family will be forever grateful. Mike's funeral will be held Saturday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantations St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 4PM to 8PM on Friday. Friends attending the funeral are asked to go directly to Church. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
