Michael F. DiTerlizzi, 90, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, in Beaumont of Worcester. His loving wife of fifty-seven years, Mary A. (Mezzano) DiTerlizzi, passed away in February 2003. Michael is survived by his loving children, two sons, Mark DiTerlizzi and his wife Lucy of Newport, RI and Michael DeTerlizzi, Jr. of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Lois Lupien and her husband Harry of Sturbridge; A brother, George DiTerlizzi and his wife Lena of Chatham; his long term companion, Kathleen Sabacinski of Shrewsbury; five granddaughters, five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by a brother, Jerry J. DiTerlizzi and by a sister, Congetta "Connie" DiLeo. Born in Shrewsbury, he was the son of Mauro and Lucia (Ambrosini) DiTerlizzi and has lived there is entire life. He served his nation proudly in the United States Army, during World War II, in France. He worked for many years as a drywall installer for Antonelli Construction, before he retired in 1984. Michael was a member of Saint Anne's Church, the Italian American Victory Club and was a former member of the Victor Quaranta Post American Legion. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending time on Cape Cod. Calling hours for Michael will be held on Tuesday, July 3, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession to Saint Anne's Church, 120 Boston Turnpike Road, (route 9), Shrewsbury where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Saint Anne's Human Service, 120 Boston Turnpike Road, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
