Claudia R. Wolanin

Claudia R. Wolanin, 61 of Millbury, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at home. Claudia is survived by her companion of thirty years, Joseph R. Chunis, Sr. of Millbury; a sister, Elizabeth F. Daly and a brother, Thaddeus T. Wolanin, Jr. both of Worcester. She is predeceased by a brother, Thomas P. Wolanin. Claudia was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Thaddeus T. and Frances T. (Bisko) Wolanin. She grew up in Worcester and later moved to Millbury where she has lived for the past thirty years. Claudia graduated from Burncoat High School and later graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with her Associate's degree in Business. She worked for Worcester State Hospital as the head kitchen supervisor for twenty-five years before her retirement in 2010. Claudia was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. She loved cooking and gardening. Services for Claudia will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 1st from 3-6 p.m. in the funeral home.
