Vincenza (Pennacchio) Ferrantino, 88, of Worcester formerly of 484 Lake Ave passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 19th 2012 after a period of declining health. Vincenza was born in Worcester, a daughter of Domenic and Philomena (Pettillo) Pennacchio. She graduated from Commerce High School and has lived in Worcester all her life. Vincenza's husband William J. Ferrantino passed away in April of 2006. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A sister, Cecelia M. Kaseta and a brother, Michael Pennaccia pre deceased her. Vinny worked for the Worcester School Department for many years before retiring. Vinny was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and its Golden Years, the Maria SS Addolorata Society, A member and past president of the ladies Auxiliary of the Eastside Post American legion and the West Boylston VFW Post 6970. Funeral services for Vincenza will be held Tuesday, June 26th at 10:30 am in The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery next to her husband. A period of visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt Carmel renovation fund, 24 Mulberry St 01604.
