Jennie A. (Murgo) Valarioti, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 21st surrounded by her devoted family. Jennie was born in the Italian Heritage section of Worcester, Shrewsbury Street a daughter of Domenic and Maria Francesca (Pellegrini) Murgo. She grew up in Worcester, and graduated from Commerce High School. In 1946, Jennie met her future husband Joseph Valarioti and they married in 1948. Together they lived in Worcester, until moving to Marlboro in 1960. Jennie is survived by the family she cherished so much: Her husband of 64 years, Joseph Valarioti; her two sons, Dominic Valarioti of Marlborough, Richard Valarioti, his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" and their children Patti, Michael, Christine, John and Maggie of Southboro; a brother, Anthony "Tony" Murgo and is wife Florence (Valarioti) Murgo; three sisters, Ginger Rinaldi, Mary DiSilvestro and Michelina Gentile; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Four sisters, Lea Ferdella, Josephine Masiello, Angelina Yannone and Susan Falco all pre deceased her. Jennie was a devoted typical Italian mother, who cherished the care and compassion she could give to her family. Her grandchildren she adored and whom adored her were her life's inspiration and joy. The moments she spent with them were the greatest of her life supporting and encouraging them to reach all their goals. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church and the Marlboro lodge #240 Order Sons of Italy. Jennie was extremely social and friendly with everyone she came in contact with. She dressed sharply always looking wonderful. She was an advocate for consuming natural foods. She enjoyed traveling and spending summers on Cape Cod. In her community, Jennie was active in supporting the endeavors of her husband Joseph with the Rotary Club, Boys & Girls Clubs and the Assabet Valley Vocational School. Jennie was also a great dancer enjoying swing and ballroom dancing and would rarely miss a performance of her son Dominic's swing band. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, June 24th 2012 from 3 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated Monday June 25th from the funeral home with a mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St Worcester. Burial in St John Cemetery will follow. Members of the Marlboro Lodge 240, Oder sons of Italy will meet at 330 pm Sunday in the funeral home to conduct their ritual.
