Marie O. Lanzillotti, 71, of Webster, formerly of Meriden, CT and Worcester, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 30th 2012 with family gathered beside her. Marie was born in Worcester, one of eight children born to Leonardo and Maddalena (Rinaldi) Lanzillotti. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation, Marie began a career in Nursing in Hospital patient care in Worcester. She then began a second career as a State Inspector for Massachusetts. She then became a Nursing Consultant in Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Upon moving to Connecticut she became Director of Nursing and retired from this position. Marie is survived by her devoted sisters, Margaret DeSantis with whom she lived, and Joanne Kozak of Shrewsbury, and Rose Saksa of Worcester; three brothers Anthony Lanzillotti in Florida, Robert Lanzillotti in Webster and Domenic Lanzillotti of Shrewsbury; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A sister, Carmella Delaney pre deceased her. Marie was a member of St Anne's Church. The Massachusetts and American Nurse Association. The American Genealogical Association. Marie volunteered her work teaching literacy to people who could not read. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Friday, June 1st from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Saturday, June 2nd from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Anne's Church, 170 Boston Turnpike Rd.
