Pasquale M. Quitadamo, 89, of Palm Bay, Florida and Westerly, Rhode Island, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at his home in Palm Bay. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Joan E. (Edwards) Colucci-Quitadamo; four daughters, Marie T. McKeon wife of the late John J. of Millbury, Lena M. Heavey and her husband Daniel of Worcester, Donna Quitadamo of Worcester and Marianne T. Quitadamo-Gradilone and her husband John of North Oxford; a sister, Congetta Trovato and her husband Pat of Shrewsbury; three step-sons, Ralph Colucci in Vermont, Christopher Colucci of North Stonington, CT and Kevin Colucci in Florida; a step-daughter in law, Judy Colucci wife of the late Leonard Colucci of Shelter Harbor, RI; five grandchildren, Tara Sullivan, Kari Raffa, Erin Demand, Heather Creelman and Daniel G. Heavey Jr.; eight Colucci grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pasquale was predeceased by his first wife, Marion (Senior) Quitadamo in 1989. He was also predeceased by his three brothers, Matteo, Joseph, and Ralph, a son-in-law Clifford C. Crouse and a stepson Phillip Colucci. He was born in Worcester, son of Michael and Lena (Diurna) Quitadamo and lived there for many years, before moving to Westerly and Palm Bay. Pasquale loved his nation and served proudly during World War II, in the United States Army, 5th Infantry Division. He served in the European, African-Middle Eastern Theatre and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, a Silver Campaign Star for five battles including, Normandy and the Battle of The Bulge and a Rifle Marksman Badge. When he returned home from the war, he started his family with his first wife of 43 years, Marion, and went to work with his father and brothers at American Products Bottling Company in Worcester, the bottlers of Frostie Root Beer. He would later serve as a consultant for Polar Beverages in Worcester. Following his retirement from the soda business and the subsequent meeting of his loving second wife, Joan Colucci, he continued to stay active by being an integral part of the day to day operations of The Andrea Hotel in Westerly, Rhode Island; another family business operated by several generations of the Colucci family. The common theme throughout his life and up to his passing was love and dedication to family. He worked hard his whole life so his many loved ones could have the best lives possible. He loved unconditionally and earned the respect of all who crossed his path. A special thank you is extended to Michelle Pinto, Rebecca Colucci, and their mother, Judy Colucci for showing the love they shared with Pat and Joan by acting as tender caregivers whenever and wherever they were needed. Calling hours for Pasquale will be held on Friday, May 11, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 12, from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street, Worcester. Interment with Military Funeral Honors will follow in Saint John's Cemetery.
