John J. Canzano, 92, of Worcester, passed away Sunday, April 29th 2012, with his family by his side. John's wife of 68 years, Rose M. (Ferraro) Canzano passed away in 2009. He is survived by his devoted family: John J. "Jack" Canzano, Jr. , his wife Gertrude and their children, Maria Duva, Cheryl Kotsopoulos, and Barbara Peters, daughters, Jean M. Makunas, her husband John and their children, John Matthew Markunas and Janice M. LePrevost ; Diane M. Toomey, her husband Charles and their children, Lisa Normandin, Lori Cladis and Joseph DePaoli; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Warner; many nieces, nephews including a special nephew, George Raad, extended family and friends. Three brothers, Joseph, Emilio "Leo" and James Canzano and a sister, Mary Carlson all pre deceased him. He was a member of St Stephen's Church, the Frohsinn Club and Saturday night dance group; John was a mechanic all his life, he worked for the City of Worcester in the Police Department many years before retiring, and previously for Railway Express and various automobile agencies. He also co-owned and operated Rose's Limousine Service. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Saturday May 5th from 9 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAKL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral service will follow at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow with Military Honors in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Center, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168
