Rosemary Sahagian, beloved daughter of Birch E. and Adeline (Papazian) Sahagian, was called to her eternal rest on Tuesday, April 24. She leaves behind her loving family, consisting of her sister-in-law, Grace Sahagian, an aunt, Ann Martin, several cousins, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. Her brother, Elliott, predeceased her, in 1976. Rosemary was born and raised in Worcester and lived here most of her life, except for a brief period when she lived in New York City. She graduated from Commerce High School and retired from Thom McCan as a mail room supervisor. She also worked in retail for many years, primarily at Paraphernalia, a woman's boutique on Highland Street. She was a committed volunteer of the American Cancer Society's Look Good, Feel Better program and was recently honored as the 2011 Volunteer of the Year for her work with women with cancer. A memorial service for Rosemary is planned for Saturday, April 28, at 10:30 AM at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Rosemary's memory be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Attn: Contribution Services, Brookline, MA 02445. If making a donation by check please note in memory of Rosemary and who to send the tribute acknowledgement to.
