Stella T. "Wally" (Wolochowicz) Liseno, 92 of Worcester, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 18, 2012 with family by her side after being suddenly stricken. Stella's beloved husband of 53 years, Frank D "Midnight" Liseno passed away in 1995. She is survived by her two devoted children, Dr. Elizabeth Liseno Puccio and her husband Alfonso of Northborough, Frank D. Liseno Jr and his wife Ann Marie of Holden; three grandchildren she adored, Lyn Ann Towne-Smith and her husband Nathan, Mark Puccio and his wife Kathy, Paul Puccio and his wife Rachel; seven cherished grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Underwood of Spencer and Frances Youderian of Osseo WI; Nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. A sister Adele Steinmetz and a brother William Wolochowicz both pre deceased her. Wally, as she was nicknamed, was born in Worcester, her parents were the late Peter and Eva (Popko) Wolochowicz. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade class of 1937 where she was voted the class athlete. Stella loved to tell stories of growing up near Crompton Park, of chasing the ice truck and of the life she shared with her parents and family during the depression years. She learned to be a hard worker and was deeply religious and spiritual. She remained the matriarch of her family until her passing; giving love, wisdom and advice. She was wise and loving. She had numerous friends from bowling, church and her volunteer activities who deeply loved her. She stayed connected to her neighborhood, loving her neighbors who were a great support to her and remained independent until her passing. She stayed in contact with the friends from her teenage and early marriage years. She had a true love affair with her husband who she missed deeply after his passing. They were devoted to each other and to their family. Her stories of meeting "Mid" and falling in love were magical to hear. They were proud of their children who they raised, taught old world values, educated and were happy with their accomplishments and the families they created. Holidays were always a special time and the family will miss the special foods she continued to make. Wally worked as a sales representative for the former Guys and Gals Shop in the Galleria and previous to that for Paul's Hats before retiring. She was a member of St Anne's Church. Prior to that she belonged to St Margaret Mary's until its closing where she was a Catholic Daughter of America. She was a member of The Ladies Auxiliary of the DAV Chapter #4 in Worcester. She was an avid candlepin bowler for most of her life, winning trophies and remaining very active with her bowling friends. She participated in the bowling, the dinners and the parties with great enjoyment. She bowled in leagues until she was 80 years old. Notably, Stella was recognized and awarded several times over the years for her selfless dedication to the RSVP (Linus Program) crocheting over a thousand Afghans for sick and challenged children in area hospitals and beyond. Her dedication and focus were an inspiration to whoever met her. She dedicated her life to her family, friends and the helping of others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
