Gloria J. "Bammie" (Piekarski) Favacchia, 67, of Shrewsbury passed away suddenly Wednesday March 14, 2012, with her family by her side. Gloria was born on September 11, 1944 in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Her mother and stepfather were Virginia (Sprouse) and Edward Storm. She was raised and educated in Pa before moving to Shrewsbury in 1975. Gloria is survived by her devoted husband and partner of 49 years, Ronald B. Favacchia; the three children she loved so much, Lisa A Pellegrino and her husband Steven of Shrewsbury, Denise L. Landry and her husband Christopher of Auburn, and Ronald V. Favacchia of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren who adored being with Bammie; Lindsey, Samantha, John, Erica, Jacob, and Peter. She also leaves behind a brother Joseph Piekarski and a sister Cyndi Higgins both in Pennsylvania. Nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. A sister, Robin Storm pre deceased her. Gloria worked as an underwriter in the insurance industry for the former Paul Revere, now Unum Provident Insurance Company before retiring. Gloria was also an enthusiastic collector of Disney Items and traveled to Disney World yearly. Gloria loved to read and write, but her greatest pride was her family, especially watching her grandchildren dance. Friends and Relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, March 18th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday March 19th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mt View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Anne Church Human Services 130 Boston Turnpike Rd, or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main St. suite 104, Natick Mass.
