John R. "Jack" Miller, 73, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife, Judith A. (Sokolowski) Miller; a daughter, Maureen Gamache and her husband Philip of Epping, New Hampshire; a son, John R. Miller, Jr. and his partner Paul Venti of Worcester; a nephew Rick Bousquet of Millbury, whom he thought of as a son; seven grandchildren, Justin and Michelle, Nicole, Lillian, Abby, Renee and Rachel; two great grandchildren, Amelia and Gabriel; two brothers, James and Paul Miller both of Worcester; three sisters, Muriel Uppstrom of Northborough, Barbara Adams and Marsha Bisceglia both of Worcester; best friends, Brenda and Ron Williams in Connecticut; his loving companion, Lucy Lu; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother and two sisters, Joseph Miller, Jr., Dorothy Miller and Shirley Ruggieri. Jack was born in Worcester, son of Joseph and Charlotte (Phelps) Miller, Sr. and has lived here all his life. Jack worked as a mechanic for many years, most recently at Beacon Auto in Worcester. He had previously owned J.J. Miller Repair. He was a hard working man, who enjoyed his family and friends. He loved to tend to his yard and play with his beloved Lucy Lu. His kind and gentle spirit will be remembered by all those he knew. Calling hours for John will be held tonight, Sunday, March 11, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Funeral Service following at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Holy Trinity Hospice, 1183 Main Street, Worcester.
